Cataract patients now have an option to see at both near and far distances after cataract surgery! Individuals suffering from cataracts previously had only a mono-focal lens implant option after surgery. NEW multi-focal, accommodating and astigmatic correction IOL technology can now decrease dependence on glasses after surgery. These include the AcrySof® ReSTOR® IOL, Crystalens® and the AcrySof® Toric IOL. If you are seeking one of these options, please feel free to consult our staff.

Multifocal (AcrySof® ReSTOR®)
Accomodating (Crystalens®)
Astigmatic (AcrySof® Toric)
If you suffer from astigmatism and require surgery to remove a cataract, you now have a new option that could correct both problems. Eye Physicians of Central Florida offers the AcrySof® Toric intraocular lens (IOL).
Cataracts and astigmatism both blur vision. The traditional lens implanted during cataract surgery helps to clear your vision but cannot correct the astigmatism. As a result, cataract patients with astigmatism still require glasses, contact lenses or additional surgery to see clearly.
The AcrySof® Toric IOL not only corrects blurred vision from a cataract, it also reduces or eliminates astigmatism, allowing most patients to achieve quality distance vision without glasses or contact lenses.
Your Eye Physicians of Central Florida doctor can answer any questions you may have and help you decide if cataract surgery with the AcrySof® Toric IOL is best for you.
